Born April 7, 1982, in Miami, Florida to Matias Alvarez and Sherri Gattone, Justin Alvarez was raised in the small refinery town of Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania and the rural town of Elkton, Maryland.Justin began acting in high school as Seymour in "Little Shop of Horrors." Although this was his first leading role, it was not his first time on stage. His mother enrolled him and his brother, Brandon, in dance classes when they were five and four, and they both performed in dance recitals from kindergarden through the fourth grade. At the age of 10, Justin begged his mom to let him play sports instead, and he left the stage until his senior year. It was then that he was inspired by his drama teacher to audition for "Little Shop." On the night of his final performance, Justin decided he wanted to be an actor. He asked, to his mother's mild amusement, "How could you ever let me quit dancing?!"After high school, Justin went on to lead local and regional theater productions and later made the jump to film. Justin's first venture into independent film came about unexpectedly. When the Maryland theater company that was to showcase his next leading role closed down, he suggested to the director that they turn the staged production into a movie. The director agreed. In August 2004, after his performance as Conrad in a regional theater production of "Bye Bye Birdie," and a leading role in an Army Training Video (his first paying gig), Justin made a two-week, cross country road trip to relocate in Los Angeles.Justin's young career in the film and TV industry has included co-starring roles on CSI: Miami, Brothers & Sisters, and Ugly Betty. He has also appeared in multiple national commercials.
